What am I thinking?

I don't know where my brain was when I made this or why I made it! I found it in my huge pile of untrimmed 1/2 square triangles.

You know the ones....they are the itty bitty waste triangles you cannot bear to throw away. ( read a great line in another blog that was something like...I have yards and yards of fabric. WHY am I muddling about with these itty bitty things that could be thrown away!! We all know the answer....we paid for them!!! But I love the sentiment. It's how I feel exactly).
These are 1.5" big. That means they will finish at 1" each. Am I nuts?

Haven't you heard? All quilters are nuts or at least obsessive. Lol.

I save all the bits and pieces too. I have a small collections of 1" hst waiting to be turned into a masterpiece.

No, you are not crazy because that would make me crazy too. I keep those waste triangles too and have made entire bed and wall size quilts from them.

when I am making a quilt and cutting off little triangles I put together and stitch and they are all ready to size down...not sure what I will do with them but they are there waiting for me...hard to throw away...

1" finished size? You're not nuts, but you're waaaaay more patient than a lot of us!

If you are nuts, then I am too because I do the same thing. I collect everyone else's little bits and sew them together into those little bitty things. I have a box of them that is getting more full every day.

hee hee - I have a floss sorter that I keep 1.5 inch pieces and hst's in so that I can make 5 inch finished sister's favorite blocks. I get a perverse sense of satisfaction to use these tiny scraps and I tell myself I can experiment with ANY color combinations because I'm not wasting any precious lengths of good stuff. Every now and then I pick out a set for a block (or my kids do) and layer then on sheets of paper so I can use them as leaders/enders. I'm up to 50-ish blocks. This, of course, would make a blankie big enough to cover my toes... or to use as a hankie instead of a blankie! :) If you don't want to stitch them together, I'll be happy to take pre-cut hst's off your hands!!! Enjoy!
